There are several versions of how we started Embrace Crowns, but in every story, there is an event that motivated us to take the first step towards entrepreneurship. But this story begins when we decided to research my family history and ancestors. If you come from a Caribbean or Latino background you can’t ask questions about your abuelos and parents’ past. It’s taboo, it’s a no no. But this time, curiosity triumphed. The story begins when I decided to leave relaxers and start my natural curly hair journey during my first years of college when there was still a strong prejudice and stigma around curly and natural hair in Puerto Rico. Back in 2014
